Job Description

Role Purpose

  • The Domestic Support Staff ensures the cleanliness, organization, and smooth day-to-day operations of the household or facility.
  • The role supports residents, guests, and management by maintaining high standards of hygiene, assisting with errands, and contributing to a comfortable, safe, and well-run environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Housekeeping & Cleaning: Perform routine and deep cleaning of all assigned areas, including rooms, kitchens, restrooms, living spaces, and common areas.
  • Laundry & Garment Care: Handle washing, drying, ironing, folding, and organizing clothes, linens, and fabrics.
  • Household Organization: Maintain orderly storage of supplies, pantry items, cleaning materials, and personal items as instructed.
  • Meal Assistance: Support meal preparation, serve meals when required, clean up kitchen and dining areas, and ensure hygienic food handling practices.
  • Errand Support: Assist with shopping, picking up supplies, receiving deliveries, and running basic errands.
  • Cleaning Equipment Management: Safely operate household cleaning tools and machines, reporting faults or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Guest Support: Welcome and attend to visitors, support household activities, and ensure guest areas remain clean and presentable.
  • Safety & Hygiene Compliance: Follow household safety procedures, handle waste disposal properly, and maintain a safe environment for residents.
  • Pet Care (if applicable): Provide basic care to pets such as feeding, grooming assistance, and cleaning pet areas.
  • Miscellaneous Assistance: Support any additional duties required by the household manager to ensure smooth daily operations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of SSCE or equivalent
  • Previous experience in housekeeping, domestic care, or facility support preferred
  • Training in cleaning techniques, food handling, or home care is an added advantage
