Job Description

Our client, a women\'s health clinic is looking for a Clinic Nurse, who will provide comprehensive nursing care to women across their lifespan. This includes conducting clinical assessments, assisting in gynecological procedures, providing prenatal and postnatal education, and ensuring a sterile, safe environment. The ideal candidate is a compassionate professional who prioritizes patient privacy and evidence-based care.

Responsibilities

  • Patient care and assessment: Perform initial partial assessments, take vital signs, record medical histories and assist with exam and procedures 
  • Patient Education & Counselling: Educate patients on their specific treatment protocols, including explaining medications, dosages, and administration techniques (e.g., self-injection training).
  • Cycle Monitoring: Coordinate and monitor treatment cycles and conducting blood tests.
  • Procedure Assistance: Assist physicians in the theatre during egg retrievals, embryo transfers, IUIs, and other procedures.
  • Clinical Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for patients, answering questions, providing guidance, and managing patient waiting lists and schedules.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all legal consents are signed, patient records are accurate, and that all procedures adhere to regulatory standards 
  • Emotional Support: Provide compassionate, non-judgmental support to individuals and couples navigating the stress and uncertainty of fertility treatments.
  • Medication Management: Review treatment protocols to order or prepare medication and monitor for side effects or risks such as Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS).
  • Pre- and Post-operative Care: Provide care to patients before and after procedures, including discharging patients following sedation. 
  • Administrative Support: Maintain accurate up to date documentation in EMR, process referrals and communicate test results with patients.

Working Conditions: This role often requires early morning hours for monitoring scans and blood tests, as well as a rotating schedule that includes weekends and public holidays to accommodate the timing of egg retrievals and embryo transfers. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Registered Nurse, Registered midwife.
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with relevant State Nursing Council registration.
  • Experience: Previous experience in Obstetrics, Gynecology, or Reproductive Health is highly preferred.
  • Training in ultrasound scanning, phlebotomy, and IVF-specific procedures is a strong advantage.
  • Certifications in ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) or Reproductive Endocrinology are highly desirable.

  • Excellent Communication: Ability to explain complex technical information clearly to patients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Empathy and Sensitivity: High emotional intelligence to support patients during vulnerable moments.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision is required for medication dosages, scheduling, and documentation.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage high-volume patient scheduling and fast-paced clinic environments.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competence in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
