Role Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the hospital’s day-to-day operational activities across clinical and non-clinical departments. The role ensures operational efficiency, effective staff management, regulatory compliance, and alignment between daily hospital operations and the hospital’s strategic objectives.
This position serves as a critical coordination and control function between hospital management and frontline teams, including doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative staff.
Key Responsibilities
The Operations Manager shall be responsible for the following, including but not limited to:
- Oversee daily hospital operations to ensure efficiency, continuity of care, and service quality
- Coordinate and manage staff across all departments, including medical, nursing, allied health, and administrative units
- Ensure effective duty scheduling, workflow coordination, and operational discipline
- Implement, monitor, and enforce hospital policies, procedures, and operational standards
- Support clinical service delivery by ensuring operational readiness, adequate staffing, and resource availability
- Monitor operational performance and drive continuous process improvement
- Manage procurement, inventory, and vendor relationships to ensure uninterrupted hospital operations
- Support budget implementation, cost control, and optimal utilization of hospital resources
- Ensure compliance with healthcare safety, quality, hygiene, and regulatory requirements
- Act as a liaison between management and operational staff, ensuring clear communication and execution of management directives
- ensure that all hospital equipment and infrastructure are properly maintained, safe, and fully operational at all times to support efficient and high-quality patient care.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience, with prior experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment required
- Bachelor’s Degree, HND, or higher qualification in relevant fields, including but not limited to:
- Hospital or Healthcare Management
- Nursing
- Public Health
- Business Administration
- Operations Management
- Human Resource Management
- Health Information Management or related disciplines
- Completion of NYSC is mandatory
- Demonstrated understanding of hospital operations and clinical service environments
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams within a healthcare setting
- Strong administrative, organizational, and people management skills
- Effective communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities
- Proximity to Festac or surrounding areas is a key requirement.
