As an External Account Manager – Beauty & Care at Brenntag, you will be responsible for managing and growing a defined portfolio of Beauty, Personal Care, and Home Care customers across the Lagos market. Acting as the primary commercial interface, you will drive sustainable growth through strong customer partnerships, portfolio expansion, and new business development within a fast-moving, formulation-driven environment
Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of category A & B Beauty & Care customers (Personal Care, Home Care, Cosmetics, FMCG manufacturers)
Maintain and grow existing business through structured account management and consultative selling
Expand product range penetration across surfactants, emollients, actives, functional ingredients, and additives
Identify, develop, and secure new Beauty & Care business opportunities
Achieve and exceed gross profit (GP) and margin targets
Drive margin optimisation and sustainable profitability
Conduct detailed customer profiling and maintain accurate CRM records
Perform frequent, structured customer visits and engagements aligned to portfolio needs
Maintain up-to-date product, application, and formulation knowledge through supplier training and market exposure
Submit weekly call reports, forecasts, and sales administration
Provide reliable forecasting inputs and updates to Product Management
Ensure pricing, contracts, and conditions of sale are current and correctly applied
Prepare thoroughly for customer visits and submit weekly activity schedules
Support the sale of short-dated or at-risk stock where applicable
Collaborate closely with Product Management, Supply Chain, Quality, and Technical teams
Adhere to Brenntag Rules of Procedure (ROP), SOPs, and company policies at all times
Your Profile
You are a commercially driven and customer-focused sales professional with experience in Beauty & Personal Care, Home Care, or FMCG ingredient markets. You are confident engaging formulators and procurement teams, identifying value-added opportunities, and building long-term partnerships in a competitive, innovation-led environment.

Experience
5–8 years’ experience in external sales or account management within the Beauty & Personal Care, Home Care, FMCG, or specialty ingredients environment
Proven track record in managing key accounts and delivering on sales and margin targets
Exposure to personal care and home care raw materials or functional ingredients
Experience in customer profiling, forecasting, and sales reporting
Demonstrated ability to drive margin improvement and portfolio growth
Experience using CRM systems and MS Office
SAP knowledge advantageous
Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel extensively within Lagos
Education
Matric / Senior Secondary Certificate
Relevant tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Business/Marketing
Additional Beauty & Care, Personal Care formulation, or FMCG-related training will be an advantage
