The Facility & Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day technical maintenance, upkeep, and smooth functioning of all hotel facilities and equipment. The role ensures uninterrupted operations across power, water, electrical, mechanical, and general building systems while coordinating external vendors and responding to technical issues promptly.
The engineer works closely with hotel management to maintain high operational standards and minimize downtime.

Works closely with: Front Desk, Housekeeping, Security, and External Service Providers
Escalates critical technical issues to management promptly
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain all hotel technical facilities including generators, electrical systems, plumbing, water systems, lighting, and basic HVAC.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to reduce breakdowns and emergency repairs.
- Respond promptly to technical faults, breakdowns, and emergency maintenance issues.
- Supervise and coordinate external technicians, vendors, and service providers when specialized repairs are required.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service schedules, and incident reports.
- Ensure proper usage and basic care of technical equipment by relevant staff.
- Monitor fuel usage, power supply systems, and basic energy efficiency practices.
- Ensure facilities meet safety, operational, and basic regulatory standards.
- Support management during renovations, installations, or equipment upgrades.
Requirements & Qualifications
- HND / BSc in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field).
- 3–5 years’ hands-on experience in facilities, building, or technical maintenance.
- Proven experience maintaining generators, electrical systems, and plumbing.
- Prior experience in a hotel, estate, hospital, or commercial facility is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple technical tasks.
- Willingness to respond to urgent technical issues when required.
