Job Description
We’re looking for a fluent Igbo speaker based in Lagos to join our team as a part-time online tutor. You will teach Igbo language to learners across the globe via Zoom using our structured conversational teaching method. You need to be a resident of Lagos for this role.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, spoken Igbo lessons via Zoom every Saturday evening (5:00 PM – 9:00 PM)
- Prepare lessons and do Audio recordings for our AudioBooks and Act as Shadow Tutor for other Tutors on the Team (Tuesdays and Wednesdays 5.00 pm - 9.00 pm)
- Help learners improve their speaking and listening skills in Igbo
- Follow our in-house method for teaching conversational Igbo
- Communicate clearly and professionally with students and the LIBC team
Requirements
- Must currently live in Lagos
- Minimum grade of A1 in Igbo Language (SSCE WAEC) – this is compulsory
- Fluent in both spoken and written Igbo and English
- Prior experience using Zoom (essential)
- Access to a reliable, high-speed internet connection (non-negotiable)
- Passionate about promoting the Igbo language
- No teaching degree required – enthusiasm and commitment to learners are what matter most
Working Hours
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturday: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Required)
Remuneration
Competitive hourly pay (paid in Naira)
