Job Summary

  • The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering engineering and fabrication projects from initiation to completion.
  • The role ensures projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standards, while coordinating cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, production, and site installation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage assigned projects from kick-off to final handover.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, procurement, production, finance, and QA teams to ensure smooth execution.
  • Monitor project progress against milestones, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials and equipment in collaboration with procurement.
  • Supervise site activities, including fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation—Identify project risks early and implement mitigation plans.
  • Manage project budgets, track costs, and control variations.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to management and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements at all stages.
  • Stakeholders Facing/Management—Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on project execution matters.
  • Manage contractors, vendors and site personnel effectively.
  • Resolve project issues, delays, and conflicts promptly.
  • Ensure proper documentation, as-built drawings, and project close-out reports.
  • Support continuous improvement of project execution processes.
  • Oversee Bids & Tenders, RFQ, RFP processes.
  • Local and Foreign OEM facing.
  • Contract Management, SLAs within Nigeria and West Africa.
  • Good knowledge of MS Project and Primavera P6.
  • Project Documentation: Scope of Work, Project Contracts, Work Execution Plan, Budget Plan, WBS, Reports, RAMs, Operations and Maintenance Manuals etc.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Preferably) or related field
  • Minimum 6 years project management experience in engineering/fabrication/Construction projects
  • Strong coordination, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
