Role Overview
- This role is responsible for driving disciplined financial data management and tax compliance to achieve uninterrupted availability of tax clearance certificates and 100% reliable regulatory reporting, enabling the company to finish its goals with zero operational downtime from regulatory friction or penalties.
Responsibilities
What you will be doing everyday:
- Tax Compliance Support: Manage the end-to-end filing process for VAT, WHT, PAYE (all relevant states), Pension, NHF, EMTL and review corporate income tax filings for all entities.
- Tax Clearance Management: Proactively processing and following up on Tax Clearance Certificates (TCCs) for all entities.
- Tax Calendar Management: Maintain and monitor internal tax compliance calendar to track statutory due dates.
- Research & Legislation Monitoring: Track and summarize changes in tax laws, treaties, and guidance in covered countries.
- Tax Data Reconciliation: Reconcile tax filings with general ledger accounts and external submissions (e.g., revenue authority portals)
- Withholding Tax Management: Review vendor invoices for correct WHT application and prepare schedules for remittance
- Support for Tax Audits & Queries: Compile supporting documentation and prepare first-draft responses to tax authority audits or queries.
- Transfer Pricing Documentation Support: Assist with preparation of Local Files, benchmarking data, and intercompany transaction logs.
- Process Improvement & SOPs: Document and suggest improvements to recurring tax processes and controls.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Liaise with finance, legal, and operations teams to align on tax-sensitive projects and payments.
Minimum Requirements
Technical Skills
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics, or a related field (mandatory)
- ACA, ACCA, CITN, or equivalent (required)
- Minimum 3 years in tax management and financial reporting roles with multi-entity or cross-border exposure
- Working knowledge of Microsoft dynamics and 365 suite tools.
- Strong working knowledge of VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT, Pension, NHF, EMTL rules and filing procedures.
- Ability to reconcile tax accounts with general ledger, spot discrepancies, and support accurate tax provisioning
- Proficient in analyzing and applying tax laws, circulars, treaties, and regulations to operational decisions.
