Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable full-time Chef to manage daily meal preparation in a private household in Lekki. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning menus, preparing healthy and delicious meals, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and ensuring food quality and consistency. This role requires professionalism, creativity, and a strong understanding of both local and continental dishes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner as required by the household
- Plan weekly menus in line with dietary needs and preferences
- Cook a variety of Nigerian and continental meals
- Ensure meals are nutritious, well-presented, and timely
- Shop for groceries and manage kitchen inventory
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety
- Properly store food and manage leftovers to reduce waste
- Keep the kitchen and cooking equipment clean and organized
- Take feedback and adjust meals accordingly
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook (private home or professional kitchen)
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian cuisine and basic continental dishes
- Ability to plan balanced and healthy meals
- Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
- Neat, organized, and time-conscious
- Honest, reliable, and respectful
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must reside in or be able to commute easily to Lekki
Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)
- Experience with special diets (low-salt, diabetic-friendly, etc.)
- Baking and pastry skills
- Ability to prepare meals for small events or guests
Working Hours:
- Full-time (schedule to be discussed with the employer)
