The Pharmacy Technician supports the Pharmacist in the efficient running of the pharmacy by assisting with medication dispensing, inventory management, customer service, and administrative tasks. The role ensures accuracy, speed, and compliance while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The Technician works under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. The Pharm Tech must reside within Cross River State
Key Responsibilities
Dispensing Support
- Assist the Pharmacist in preparing and dispensing prescription and OTC medications.
- Label medication packages accurately and ensure proper packaging.
- Retrieve medications from shelves and ensure they are correctly dispensed.
- Ensure prescriptions are properly documented and filed.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Receive, unpack, and arrange pharmaceutical supplies on shelves.
- Monitor stock levels and inform the Pharmacist of low or expired items.
- Participate in weekly or monthly stock counts.
- Ensure products are properly stored under required temperature and conditions.
Customer Service
- Attend to customers politely and professionally.
- Provide information on product availability and pricing.
- Direct patients to the Pharmacist for counseling or clinical concerns.
- Handle customer inquiries and assist with OTC product selection when trained.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate records of sales, receipts, and stock movement.
- Assist in updating inventory records in the system.
- Help in maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
- Support cashiers when necessary.
Regulatory & Safety Compliance
- Follow all pharmacy laws, regulations, and internal SOPs.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Ensure controlled drugs are handled strictly according to regulations.
- Report any discrepancies or unusual observations immediately to the Pharmacist
