The Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE), Lagos State University (LASU) Chapter, is a student-led professional organization focused on promoting the study and practice of Chemical Engineering. Role Description
This is a volunteer, hybrid Tutor role designed to support Chemical Engineering students at LASU.
The Tutor will provide academic guidance, organize study sessions, simplify complex engineering concepts, and offer personalized support tailored to individual learning needs.
Sessions will be conducted primarily online, with opportunities for on-site engagement when feasible.
Tutors will also collaborate with fellow tutors and the executive team to deliver workshops, seminars, and group learning sessions, with a strong focus on real-time instruction of chemical engineering software and practical tools to enhance student competence and industry readiness
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Chemical Engineering concepts, problem-solving, and practical applications.
Experience in tutoring, academic instruction, or curriculum support.
Proficiency in teaching or using chemical engineering software (e.g., ASPEN HYSYS, MATLAB, AutoCAD, etc.) is critical.
Excellent communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to academic workshops and team initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
