Job Title: Cook

Job Description

  • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at our client hotel in Benin City, Edo State. The ideal candidate must reside in Edo State and will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in line with hotel standards while maintaining strict hygiene and food safety practices.
  • The Cook will play a key role in ensuring consistent food quality, timely meal preparation, and overall guest satisfaction in accordance with established menus and operational guidelines.

Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Kitchen Operations:

  • Prepare and cook meals according to approved hotel menus and recipes
  • Ensure food is prepared and presented to high quality and standard
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and cooking areas
  • Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and handling procedures are followed

Quality Control & Hygiene:

  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety at all times
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, and portion control
  • Comply with health, safety, and sanitation regulations

Teamwork & Operational Support:

  • Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Assist with food inventory management and minimize wastage
  • Carry out other kitchen-related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Minimum of SSCE qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Cook, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment
  • Must be a resident of Edo State
  • Good knowledge of local and continental dishes
  • Understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices
